The ADK Ripple Effect is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by Zachary Horrocks to inspire, educate, and mentor the next generation of Adirondack anglers and outdoor stewards.

Hailing from a long line of Adirondack hunting and fishing guides, Zac has spent a lifetime exploring wilderness landscapes throughout the world.

His experiences reaffirmed the unparalleled value of the Adirondack Park’s waterways, driving his commitment to conservation and youth mentorship.

By supporting certifications like the NYS Guide License, Wilderness First Responder, and USCG Captain’s License, we aim to inspire and enable future outdoor leaders.

TRE is built on a foundation of education, preservation, and awareness, fostering a deep connection between young outdoor enthusiasts and the natural world. With Zac’s genuine enthusiasm for the woods and water at its core, TRE provides a structured, supportive environment where children and young adults can develop confidence, responsibility, and respect for the outdoors.

Through hands-on fishing expeditions, participants receive fully funded fishing gear and immersive experiences exploring the Park’s waterways. For those eager to advance their skills and pursue outdoor careers, TRE offers guidance and financial support to obtain professional certifications, including the NYS Guide License, Wilderness First Responder certification, and USCG Captain’s License.

By blending mentorship with outdoor education, The Ripple Effect empowers the next generation to become responsible anglers, conservationists, and leaders—ensuring that the rich traditions of the Adirondacks endure for years to come.
